Pine River Deck & Fence | Fence Installation

My husband and I hired Dan to build a fence at our house, and after taking our deposit in July, it is now December and he has yet to actually start the job. He is absolutely the most unprofessional contractor we have ever dealt with, and a complete fraud. We have received excuse after excuse as to why the work hasn’t been done, or even started, and now have been promised a hand delivered refund, as the job will no longer be able to be completed, but of course we have yet to see that. We will unfortunately be pursuing legal action if we do not receive a response within the next 2 days.

Used Pine River Deck and Fence and worked with Dan who is the owner for the install of a split 3-rail cedar fence. My suggestion would be to run far far away from them! The job started in April of 2022 and was not completed by August when i was told he would not return to finish the job. Had over 55 post holes in my yard for over three wks without posts in them creating a huge liability for my kids and the ones living mext to me. The job took so long it ran into the next project i had scheduled and Dan said he would come back to finish but never did. The best he did was make sure i had all the materials necessary to finish my job making it far harder for me to pursue him legally...i checked. Ive spent over 40hrs finishing the install and correcting his install issues from uneven posts, proper backfill, post heights, and fence wire poorly attached. Due to poor business ethics i would advise anyone to never use this company!!! If you want a cedar fence i recommend going to Andon Fence in Ottawa Lake Michigan and hiring a different contractor to install it or do it yourself.

Gave Dan a deposit for deck, and then he gave multiple excuses for not starting work. He stopped returning phone calls. Eventually he responded he would give me a refund, yet held onto my deposit with excuses. I contacted better business bureau, and finally received my refund after I contacted bbb.
